This is the artist rendering of the new Rand Park Pavilion. This outdoor fine arts venue has long been on the "wish list" in our fair city of Keokuk. Now, real action has led us to a place where it can become a reality.
- a steering committee formed by Mayor David Gudgel has been exploring the feasibility of a park pavilion
- on request from the steering committee, OPN Architects of Des Moines has produced a detailed construction plan/timeline and an artist rendering
Plans for the Pavilion use are ambitious:
- Pavilion will host musical performances, theatrical productions, public addresses and gatherings
- Pavilion will showcase our local wealth of talent as well as out of town entertainment
- Pavilion will become a highly attended and much loved addition to our community
- The Pavilion will be an economic development asset as well as a cultural asset, and will serve as an attraction to those looking to move to Keokuk
Cost estimates for a Pavilion and amphitheatre have been prepared.
- Funding for the project will be exclusively from private and corporate donations
- Financial support from the Keokuk community will allow not only for its construction, but also its maintenance through the years
- With a majority of the contributions made prior to April, 2008, and weather permitting, construction of the Pavilion can begin
We are writing to invite you to be a contributor in this venture by making a tax-deductible contribution. Accounts for the Rand Park Pavilion have been established at First Community Bank, KSB Bank and State Central Bank, all of Keokuk. Tax-deductible donations may be taken to any of these three banks, online donation* or mailed to:
